Course Overview
This comprehensive course will cover the artistic and technical aspects of composite veneers, equipping clinicians with the skills to create naturally beautiful restorations while addressing complex colour challenges. This full-day program has been divided into modules to guide you through the day.
Module 1: The Artistic Mindset in Aesthetic Dentistry
This module establishes the foundational philosophy behind modern aesthetic dentistry, emphasizing facial harmony and smile design to achieve natural beauty. Participants will learn how clear aligner therapy minimizes unnecessary tooth structure removal while ensuring optimal esthetic results. Through an in-depth exploration of dental anatomy, proportion, and translucency, clinicians will develop a comprehensive understanding of the elements that define a beautiful, natural smile.
Module 2: Mastering the Simple Composite Veneer
This module focuses on practical application for everyday composite veneers, guiding clinicians through ideal case selection where minimal intervention is preferred. Participants will learn how to integrate whitening techniques into full-smile rejuvenation and manage patient expectations regarding colour and timing. With a focus on minimal-prep approaches, attendees will refine their skills in composite layering techniques to create lifelike restorations. The session includes polishing protocols and long-term maintenance strategies to enhance durability and esthetics.
Hands-on exercise: Building a single central incisor veneer using minimal prep and layering techniques.
Module 3: Advanced Veneers for Major Colour Change
Designed for cases requiring significant shade correction, this module covers the indications for advanced composite veneers—including tetracycline staining, non-vital teeth, and severe discolorations. Participants will master strategic whitening protocols prior to veneer placement, including internal bleaching techniques for effective stain management. Special focus will be given to opacity control, layering with tints and opaquers, and methods for creating seamless transition zones and invisible margins.
Hands-on exercise: Restoring a severely discoloured tooth with an advanced composite veneer using layering and opacity management techniques.
